Lens At Work is comprised of a husband/wife team - Dale and Kandice Thomas.
We aim to bring a smile to every client's face when they see their beautiful memories captured. Lens At Work is a creative partnership between Dale & Kandice Thomas. We bring many years of combined experience, but photography is about more than technical expertise -- it is about relationships. We want you to be comfortable with us, so here is a little background info on how we got here:
I am the energetic visionary behind this venture. In my other life I was a traveler, as a child growing up I was fortunate enough to utilize my uncle’s photography equipment,-primarily Nikon film pro SLR he had military assignments. I have an appreciation for the beautiful places that I experienced. This all led me to Northern Virginia. where I have been living I like to bring that different perspective to all my shoots. Where else to shoot but the DC Metro there are a plethora of locations and subjects in the area. My photography experience has been primarily as a freelance photographer; however, I have also done quite a bit of wedding and assignment photography, also my main strength is on the technical and side.
Kandice is a native Virginian and has experienced the area all her life, she takes advantage of natural light and shadow to make the best images. She spends enormous amount of energy researching different trends and techniques. We make an attempt to keep our shots as organic as possible; in rare and creative cases she uses Photoshop as a tool. Additionally, her strength is in working with the clients to ensure their needs are met on the wedding day. She also handles the contracts and order processing.

Note: While Kandi and I are both photographers and our intent/goal is to attend every event as a team, when unforeseen circumstances occur, there may only be one of us taking photos on the day of the event. Our contract and prices reflect one photographer (the 2nd photographer, when available (99% availability), is provided at no additional cost).

Q: How do I know you are the right photographer for me?
A: Whoever you choose to photograph your wedding, be sure you like the person and are ok with spending the whole day with them. You want to be comfortable with them trailing you pretty much the whole day. Also think about more intimate moments, like getting ready--your photographer will be there! Lastly, be sure you are in love with the photos.
